I was skeptical at first, but apparently there are a number of flame-throwing robot dogs that you can buy. Flame throwers have legitimate uses in agriculture, forestry, and ecological restoration, and are very lightly regulated. These seem dangerous, but then again the backpack-mounted alternatives seem very, very dangerous (basically, a backpack full of gasoline or napalm).
